Frequently asked questions.

Where is Musette Performing Arts Studio?

We are located in Gallipolis, Ohio at 300 2nd Ave Suite 1A.

How do I sign up for a class?

All registration can be done online using Dance Studio Pro.

How do I know what level to sign my student up for?

Most of our classes are structured by age! If you create a Dance Studio Pro account and go to the registration page, it will show you every class available for your child’s age group. Have more questions? Feel free to email us!

What should my student wear?

Summer dance wear consists of the appropriate dance shoes for the class style and anything your dancer feels comfortable moving around in!

Where can I buy dance shoes and attire?

You can find most dance clothes and shoes online, with the exception of Pointe shoes you need a fitting for. Check out our online store for specifics on what to buy!

What additional fees am I responsible for besides monthly tuition?

There is a once-per-year and once-per-family $25 registration fee. If your student is participating in the spring recital there is a $25 one time recital fee as well as costume fees for each class’s costume which is typically between $50-80. Company members also pay a $150 per semester fee.

Can I watch my student during class?

Only our students and teachers are allowed in the classroom during a dance class with the exception of Adaptive Dance or any showcase weeks. This allows our dancers the freedom to move and learn and the discipline to focus on the teacher and the technique. If you see your child not participating, following directions, misbehaving, etc. please do not enter the room. It is very important that our dancers learn to respect their teachers, and our teachers learn the best way to teach your dancer. Please allow your dancer the growth to learn how to learn, how to adjust to the classroom space, follow directions, wait their turn, and dance with others. Our teachers will escort your child to the lobby if they become too disruptive for the class or if they are in danger of injuring themselves or others. Some children learn best by observing first and then participating. Don't worry; they are still learning so many of the important dance concepts and will probably be ready to show off at home in a more comfortable atmosphere.

Are you still accepting students for registration now that the semester has begun? How long will registration be open?

Yes, you can still register! We offer rolling registration through our fall/winter semester and for the first month of our spring semester. All summer classes are drop-in as you can!

What extra opportunities do you have for dancers?

Outside our weekly classes and spring recital, we offer students 9-18 the chance at joining a dance company, The Muses. This company performs at events and festivals in the area 5-10 times per year, take two or more technique classes per week, attend a monthly company rehearsal & guest workshops, and participate in one private lesson with the teacher of their choice each semester.

When and where are the performance opportunities and who performs in these shows?

Every student enrolled for spring semester is invited to participate in our spring recital that typically takes plan at the University of Rio Grand at the in April or May. Dancers may opt out, but we strongly recommend participation as the show is a culmination of the semester’s/year’s work by the students.

We’re excited to add a brand-new opportunity to shine on stage with our 2025 production of The Nutcracker (abridged)! This is a fantastic chance for students to experience the magic of performance in a fun, supportive setting — whether it’s their first time in the spotlight or they’re seasoned performers. With classic roles, festive music, and all the Nutcracker charm in a shorter, family-friendly format, it’s the perfect way to kick off the holiday season! Join us for Nutcracker Bootcamp August 5-7.
